1.  Islam in Mongolia

Islam in Mongolia is mainly practised by the Kazakhs of Bayan-Ölgii (88.7% of total aimag population) and Khovd (11.5% of total aimag population) aimag in western Mongolia. Some small Kazakh communities are in various cities and towns. The notable community is in the national capital Ulan Bator (Nalaikh düüreg), Töv and Selenge aimags and Darkhan city.

2.  Mongolia Muslims

In Mongolia today, there is a significant minority of Sunni Muslims, constituting as much as 5% of the total population. Most of them are ethnic Kazaks who live primarily in the far western aimag of Bayan-Olgii (there is also a small Kazak community in and around Nalaikh, near Ulaanbaatar

   
 

3. Mongolia Mufti Visits

Mongolia Mufti Azadhan Muhanoğlu visited The Union of Non-Governmental Organizations of the Islamic World (IDSB). Muhanoğlu, who comes Turkey as invitatory of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Foundation, has acted as representative of Mongolia Muslims and has displayed activity for 15 years in order to solve the problems of Muslims in Mongolia and to provide them to live up to their conviction under better conditions. Muhanoğlu, attracting attention that about 170 hundred Muslim live in Mongolia, having 2,5 million populations, stated that Mongolian Muslims became much more conscious and there were 27 small mosques in the region.
